Blocks
Blocks are the basic components of our WordPress sites. They’re like containers for text, media, design, layout and interactive bits. Each one is styled to work well in our theme by default.
The vast majority of blocks in our system are common to all WordPress sites. you’ll find all of those on the WordPress.org Block List. Building with these blocks helps ensure things won’t break
Blocks can be:
- Dropped into a page one by one
- Grouped together on an ad hoc basis by someone editing the page
- Situated together as a Pattern or Template, usually by the theme developer
Third-party Blocks
Our system includes a few blocks created and maintained by third parties. We’re pretty selective about these in order to ensure they don’t compromise the sites’ stability or security.
- Accordion Blocks – Allows us to create accordions that hide and reveal content.
- Breadcrumb NavXT – Provides breadcrumb navigation on interior pages.
- Gutenberg – Enhances your editing experience.
- Safe SVG – allows us to use graphics in the Scalable Vector Graphic (SVG) format
- The Icon block – Provides an extensive icon library
- Visual Portfolio – Expands your options for presenting images
Custom blocks
We’ve developed a few blocks to meet some specific needs no one else was addressing.
